• “AI as Software Architect assistant” by Avraham Poupko, Global Software Architecture Summit (GSAS), Barcelona 2024. Compares Large Language Models (LLMs) and humans, discusses role and responsibilities of IT architects and how they can be supported, looks into accountability and other key concerns.
• “Being a Responsible Developer in the Age of AI Hype”, Justin Sheehy, InfoQ Dev Summit, Boston 2024. Explains how AI works, analyzes “The Age of the AI Hype”, discusses “People and AI” and accountability. Introduces the concept of alignment: “The premise is that an AI is aligned, if it is helpful, honest, and harmless” (three ethical Hs).
• “Regulation of AI and Other Untrustworthy Software”, ICSE 2025 keynote by David L. Parnas, suggesting II as a more accurate acronym. Listen to the talk to find out why!

Practitioner Articles and Posts

• “Is AI a Silver Bullet?” by Ian Cooper takes us back to the AI Winter and reviews five generations of programming languages for lessons learned.
• “Meta’s Yann LeCun on auto-regressive Large Language Models (LLMs)” is a futurist.com presentation of a Linked In post by Yann LeCun offering his “unwavering opinion on current (auto-regressive) Large Language Models (LLMs)”, organized into 14 statements.
• Uwe Friedrichsen recently started a blog series taking a CTO view: “Thoughts on AI and software development”. The subtitle of the series is “A possible future of IT between need and greed.”

Magazine Columns

• “Generative AI for Software Practitioners” (author pre-print) by Christoph Ebert and Panos Louridas elaborates technologies and usage of generative AI in the software industry.
